Privacy Policy
The short version
This policy covers aline.sh and every app published by AlineShell. Where a specific app handles data differently, that difference overrides what is said here.
- We collect the minimum an app needs to work.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't run ads.
- Each app may store your data differently, including on your device, in iCloud, on our servers, or across multiple locations. Please refer to the privacy policy for the specific app for details about how your data is stored, synced, and processed..
- You can ask us to delete everything, and we'll do it.

Who we are
AlineShell, a Wyoming LLC, is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR.

What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details. Only in apps where your data needs to persist and stay protected — we avoid accounts otherwise, and an app without them never asks you for one. What an account stores is listed under per-app details. Used to sign you in and to contact you about the service.
- Content you create. Content you create or upload in an app, such as notes, recordings, journal entries, or other files. How this content is stored and processed depends on the specific app and its features. See the privacy policy of that app for details.
- Support messages. What you write to us, plus your email address, so we can reply.
Information collected automatically
- Crash reports. Apple's built-in crash reporting, and nothing else. Device model, OS version, and a stack trace. No content, no identifiers we can tie back to you.
- Usage analytics. None in the apps themselves. This website uses Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, which record page views, performance timings, and a product_view event when you open a product link.
- Server and infrastructure logs. Our hosting and infrastructure providers may automatically collect technical information such as IP addresses, request timestamps, user agents, and other diagnostic data when you interact with our services. These logs are used for security, abuse prevention, reliability, and debugging. Their retention is determined by the policies of the applicable provider.
Information from Apple or Google
If you buy something, the store tells us that a purchase happened and gives us a receipt identifier. We never receive your payment card, billing address, or full name from them.
What we don't collect
We don't collect precise location, contacts, photos beyond what you explicitly choose to attach, advertising identifiers, or biometric data. We don't build advertising profiles, and we don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Why we're allowed to
The legal bases we rely on under the GDPR.
- To perform our contract with you — running the account and the features you asked for.
- Legitimate interests — keeping the service secure, fixing crashes, preventing abuse.
- Consent — Where we rely on your consent to process personal data, you can withdraw that consent at any time through the method provided when consent was collected. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal and will not affect paid functionality unless the relevant processing is necessary to provide that functionality.
Where it's stored
Each app stores data differently — on the device, in iCloud, on our servers, or some mix. How, where, and under what transfers is on that app's privacy page, and that page overrides anything general said here.
This website stores nothing. No accounts, no forms, no cookies we set, no copy of what you type. aline.sh is a set of pages. There is nowhere on it to leave data.
How long we keep it
How long an app keeps data is on that app's privacy page.
This website keeps none. There is no account, no inbox on the site, and no database behind these pages. The rest of aline.sh is static — you can walk it and see.
Deleting your data
You can delete everything at any time, and you don't have to give a reason.
Most AlineShell apps have a clear in-app way to delete all of your data. Whether that path is enough depends on how critical the data is — the app itself will say, in the deletion flow, whether wiping through the app is complete, or whether you need to email contact@aline.sh directly.
- In-app: follow the deletion path the app shows you (usually Settings). If the app says in-app deletion is enough, that's the whole process — it removes the data, not just your access to it.
- By email: if the app tells you the data is too critical to wipe from the client, write to contact@aline.sh. We complete deletion within two to four days and confirm when it's done.
If anything has to be retained — a purchase record for tax purposes, for example — we'll tell you exactly what and why.
Your rights
Wherever you are, you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or send you a copy in a portable format.

If you're in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you're in California, you have the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing — and we won't treat you differently for exercising any of them. As stated above, we don't sell or share your data.
We answer within two to four days and won't charge you for it.
Children
Each app states its own age restriction — read that app's privacy policy for the details. We don't knowingly collect data from children under that age. If an app states an age and you believe a child under it has given us personal information, write to contact@aline.sh and we'll delete it.
Security
Each app states how it handles encryption — if it stores data at all — where that data lives, and whether encryption is ours or the storage provider's. Read that app's privacy policy for the details.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your data, we'll notify you and the relevant authority within the time the law requires.
Per-app details
Each app has a landing page that states its own details. Those details override what is said here.
This page is the general policy. Every AlineShell app has its own landing page, and that page is the source of truth for that app — what it collects, where it stores it, encryption, age, deletion, anything that differs. If the two conflict, the app's landing page wins.
The apps are listed on the home page.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that affects you, we'll update the date at the top before the change takes effect. If the app has your email, we'll notify you there. If it doesn't — a lot of ours don't — we'll tell you in the app the next time you open it. Previous versions are available on request.
